Das Boot

The Defiant Brewery was a good halfway point for a meet up in honor of this winters sucks, so let’s hang out. The brewery itself is arranged in a railroad style creating a balanced vibrancy from couples and friends sprinkled in with larger groups conversing. For as deep as the venue is, the Beer Evangelists kept you feeling welcomed and informed on every selection. Also worth noting, the venue has a smokehouse with food selection beginning at 1pm. Having “some” drinks on Sunday tastes so much better because of how bad it can turn out. If your worried about your self-control commute by train, the front door is literally 30 seconds from the Pearl River station. That’s heaven. Cheers.

For some reason when I think of going to a museum on the weekend, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum always comes to mind. It does help that the building itself is a work of art and you’re a stone’s throw away from great food options as well as Central Park! This time around I had the pleasure of viewing the large scale, ZERO: Countdown to Tomorrow, a diverse and experimental collection of art work following World War II. This visit was extremely poignant in showcasing new methods and definitions of art in conjunction with the new year. The Guggh never disappoints.

Until the next….
