“Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between—Gallery Views”
Clothing is art? Not sure, go see this exhibit and then decide. The fabrics, tailoring, wigs and colors fuel this question. If that isn’t enough all of the pieces literally prompt you to decide with titles such as:
Absence/Presence
Design/Not Design
Fashion/Anti-Fashion
Object/Subject
Clothes/Not Clothes
The exhibit is cozy in size and can be viewed in under 45 mins. I love that the exhibit allows viewers to take any route through a maze of pure white massively curved walls, where the clothing peeks through at every turn.

The Rei Kawakubo exhibit was made possible by CONDE NAST and will be on view at The MET until September 4th, 2017.

It doesn’t matter if you wake up late on a Sunday, you still deserve a good coffee. I put on my shades and strolled over to THE- CAFE- Sel Rose. The cafe is amazingly tranquil and the barista was sweet enough to top my cappuccino off with a heart. Everywhere you looked is worth a photo. I love when I see subtle details! I highly recommend trying the vanilla syrup, as stated it was AWESOME and it gave my coffee good depth without being sugary.

I then journeyed on to Baz Bagel, it is a neighborhood bagel shop that has table and lunch counter seating. It is covered with millennial pink, but still an old school vibe- Not sure how long they have been around. They are serving up the traditional Jewish bagel with all accessories. The prices are reasonable you can get eggs any style with a bagel and smear for under $9. I would call ahead for a take-out order, it took well over 15 minutes for my order. I plan on returning for the seat down experience- I liked the fact they weren’t trying to turn over tables.

I’ve been hearing about Black Seed Bagels long enough. This past Sunday, I went and I ate. There are endless combination, for example cashew cheese kale maramalade roasted beet on a poppy seed bagel, but I wanted keep it simpe to see if the ingredients are really amazing. I chose smoked bluefish spread and tomatoes on a toasted sesame seed bagel. It was excellent, I mean really, really good. The fish spread wasn’t too salty and the bagel had a great doughy center. I wish the actual bagel was bigger, but in the end it was filling. A true weekend delight.
Looking for a quick place to have brunch, I stumbled by this unsuspecting eatery, Cafe Petisco.  There was a 10 minute wait for a table, which means, I was late to the game on this spot.
I enjoyed my meal along with the decor of this Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cafe. I only wish there was more smoked salmon with my meal. The tea service in a the metal cafe was a great touch. Overall, this is a quaint place, relaxing and a good alternative from the trendy places near by.
