Brunch @ Cafe Periscope

Looking for a quick place to have brunch, I stumbled by this unsuspecting eatery, Cafe Petisco.  There was a 10 minute wait for a table, which means, I was late to the game on this spot.
I enjoyed my meal along with the decor of this Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cafe. I only wish there was more smoked salmon with my meal. The tea service in a the metal cafe was a great touch. Overall, this is a quaint place, relaxing and a good alternative from the trendy places near by.

PF Market- A Sea Food Lovers Mecca

For over 35 years, PF Market has been a top purveyor to local businesses and has also established it’s name as a top seafood restaurant in New Jersey.

I love this place because the food is truly fresh and filling in a relaxed environment, which is likely the reason this establishment has been the Winner of OpenTable’s Diner’s Choice Award.

The last three times I’ve dinned at this restaurant was for a birthday and because they have two floors they can accommodate large parties, not to mention all the portions are more than generous so all your dining companions can sample away.

Service: Friendly; multiple staff will attend to your table.

Food: Fresh food and wide range menu- something for everyone.

Décor:
Downstairs features fish market décor.

Beverage
: BYOB.

Inventive Culinary Twists

My grandmother always told me that my grandfather insisted on going out to dinner once a week, even when they were raising four children under the age of 12. This tradition has been passed on to my parents. I don’t see my parents every week, but it always feels like a Sunday dinner when we dine out.

Krave Cafe, highly rated Zagat restaurant, is located in the downtown area of Newton NJ, with a nice bold sign you can’t miss. My parents had been there once before, but this time we were able to be seated in their outside patio area to enjoy the lovely summer evening. Just before desert, I went inside to have a look at their dining area. It was nice to see a good mix of young adults and older couples enjoying the food and BYOB experience.

I must say my family has good taste in food.

ServiceExcellent, we had two to three servers at each platting.

The East Village Institution

I’d walked pass Frank Restaurant years before I stepped inside. Always noticing the white picket fence and thinking next time. Once I learned The Meatball Shop founders got there kitchen expertise at this place, I went.

Now, this is my default eatery for a mid-week meal for two. I’ve never make a reservation and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. There is no bad seat in this establishment because the food is amazing. I would stand and eat, to be honest. This is great Italian food just the way I like it, saucy.

Service: Attentive and you can sit for hours.

Food: Authentic and hearty.

DecorDark, romantic and rustic.

Beverage: Full Service bar.
